Vegetable Gardening For Dummies comes in two parts – a video and a book. I like the way they are marketed – they are packaged as “Dummies’ gardening for Dummies” sets with everything you need to get started, except for the book.
The video is excellent, but it only shows part of the vegetable gardening process. I would have preferred a full-length DVD with a better explanation of how vegetables grow and a detailed explanation of vegetable gardening. However, you can expect to pay about forty dollars – not a lot of money, but worth it for the convenience.
The disadvantage of Vegetable Gardening For Dummies is that the basic gardening knowledge from this book is pointless. The seed packets do not include the tools and soil needed to grow plants properly – and most of them don’t even show you how to prepare the ground.
If you want to learn more about vegetable gardening, you should purchase a more in-depth gardening book or sign up for one of the many garden classes available to homeowners. You’ll save a lot of time and money with these vegetable gardening dummies sets!
